Clean Classrooms

Teach kids healthy habits

Along with a backpack and a healthy lunch, your kids also take the hygiene habits you teach them to school every day. Make sure your kids:
  • Do the elbow cough
Encourage them to cough into elbows, not hands (where they're more likely to spread germs through touch).
  • Sing & scrub
Make sure kids wash hands frequently with warm water and soap for at least 20 seconds (the time it takes to sing "Happy Birthday" twice).
  • Share wisely
Give kids their own school supplies, so they don't have to share germy cups, crayons or pencils.

Disinfect and sanitize household "hot spots"

When a child comes home from school sick, he or she may infect the rest of the family! Help prevent the spread of germs by using Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes* to sanitize and disinfect these germ "hot spots" in your home:

  • Phones
  • Kitchen/bathroom sink faucet handles
  • Light switches
  • Remote controls
  • Doorknobs
  • Refrigerator handles

Say Thank You to teachers

There are lots of ways teachers help keep classrooms safe and healthier. Here are two easy ways to say thank you:

  • Donate Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes
Clorox® Disinfecting Wipes kill 99.9% of germs including the viruses that can cause colds and flu* - and most teachers use them, but more than half of teachers have to buy their own. You can pitch in by donating wipes, especially at the start of the school year and at the beginning of flu and cold season, when teachers need all the help (and supplies) they can get.**

  • Tell your child's teacher about Clorox's Clean Up the Classroom kit
It includes activities and tips, a DVD and other tools to help teachers reduce the spread of germs at school. Best of all, it's free to teachers who register at www.cloroxclassrooms.com.

*Use as directed on hard, nonporous surfaces.

**Ask school before donating. Adult delivery only.
